Terms of use

Version 1.0 · in force since August 8, 2026 · W.B.Child Association

Who runs the service

TRUNK is operated by W.B.Child Association, Calatafimi Segesta (TP), Italia, Italian tax code 93073700812.

For anything at all: info@wbchild.it.

By using the service you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't open a trunk.

What TRUNK does

TRUNK is a private archive where a family gathers its photographs. The service organises them, spots duplicates, groups them into moments and chapters, lays out photo books and, if you ask, has them printed and shipped.

Opening and using a trunk is free. You only pay for printed books, at the prices shown when you order.

Your account

Your photographs stay yours

What you upload is and remains yours. We acquire no rights over your images.

You grant us only the technical licence the service needs: to store the files, generate thumbnails and reduced versions, lay them out into books, and transmit them to the print shop when you order. That licence lasts as long as the files are in the trunk and ends when you delete them.

We will never use your photographs for advertising, for examples, to train models, or for any purpose other than the service — not even in anonymised form.

What you may not upload

Content that:

We do not read your archives and we have no system that analyses image content. If we receive a well-founded report or an order from an authority, we act on it.

The service is not to be used commercially, to archive material on behalf of third parties, or to resell storage.

When you share with other households

You can link your trunk to other households through a tree, choosing what becomes visible. Before switching a category on, consider whether the people pictured would agree: the choice is yours, and so is the responsibility.

Printed books

Prices
As shown when you order. The total you see includes shipping and is what you pay. Local taxes may be added at checkout.
Payment
Handled by Stripe. Card details do not pass through our systems.
Production and delivery
The times shown are estimates, not commitments. They run longer around the holidays.
Content
The book is printed exactly as you approved it. Check the PDF preview before ordering: once confirmed it can't be changed.

Cancellation and defects

A photo book is a personalised product, made to your specification with your own photographs. For that reason the fourteen-day withdrawal right does not apply: once the order is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled.

That takes nothing away from your rights if something is wrong. If the book arrives damaged, with pages missing, badly printed, or different from what you approved, write to us within fourteen days of delivery with a few photographs: we reprint it or refund you, your choice, at no cost.

If the order hasn't entered production yet, we can still cancel it on request. Ask as soon as you can.

Storage and availability

We do what we can to keep the service reachable, but we don't promise it will always be up. There may be interruptions for maintenance, faults, or causes beyond our control.

Always keep a copy of your photographs somewhere else. We back up the database and the files, but TRUNK is not — and must not be used as — the only place a memory exists. This is the most important sentence in this document.

If the storage a trunk uses becomes disproportionate to ordinary family use, we'll contact you before taking any action.

Closing an account

You can delete your account whenever you like from the “Your data” page. Deletion happens after seven days and is reversible until then. Photographs in the trash disappear after 30 days.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Except in the most serious cases — unlawful material, or danger to other users — we warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.

If the service were ever to shut down, we would give at least sixty days' notice and you could export everything in that time.

Our responsibility

We are liable for damage caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and in any case for whatever the law does not allow to be excluded.

We are not liable for data loss caused by matters beyond our control, for what you upload or share, or for how other members of your family use the trunk.

For print orders, our liability is limited to reprinting the book or refunding what you paid.

Changes to these terms

If we change something substantial, we raise the version number and flag it in the app at least thirty days before it takes effect. If you don't like the new terms, you can close your account and take your data with you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law.

If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the law where you live still apply, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence. Within the EU there is also the Commission's ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
